AStarBox is designed to make astroimaging simpler. One box that will power and control your equipment. AStarBox is an open platform - it is not tied to a specific equipment manufacturer or software provider.

Simpler Imaging

• One box to power and control your imaging
• Weighs just 222g
• Guider foot mount included. Variety of other 3rd party mounting solutions available – can be mounted to scope using same connections as ASIAir.
• Initially available as a kit - add your own Raspberry Pi 5 and SD card
  

Open Platform

• AStarBox is not tied to a hardware manufacturer or software distributor.
• Use any software that can run on the Pi, including Indi, TheSky, Firecapture, PHD2  and AstroDMx.
• Control any hardware supported by your chosen software 
• Will run the OS of your choosing including AstroArch, Raspbian and StellarMate

Powerful Computing

• Based on Raspberry Pi 5 – 250% faster than Pi 4 based products
• Dedicated IO chip in Pi 5 allows 100% bandwidth connections to CMOS cameras
• Real time clock for use in the field with optional backup battery
• External GPS dongles can be used to set location (with TheSky and Indi)
• Full control of power and dew heater sockets through UI and command line
• Power plugins available for TheSky and Indi

• Power board designed by Rodolphe Pineau, experienced creator of other astro device boards
• Four power sockets 
• Two dew heater sockets
• Will supply up to 5A per socket 
• Will power USB devices that require higher currents
• Auto-resetting fuses
• Uses XT 60 connectors for high current and physical stability
