Overview
The T800-FLLED upright fluorescence microscope uses a cutting-edge 3-LED illuminator for variable-band excitation. Oufitted with the widely-used green (G1), blue (B1), and ultraviolet (UV2) excitation-bands, it can be used for a wide variety of common labeling or autofluorescence. Unlike single-LED fluorescence illuminators, the three LEDs are cycled using a multi-filter turret, eliminating the need to exchange light-sources. Each LED provides a precise excitation-source to eliminate non-relevant light, as well as providing maximum intensity at the targeted wavelength. Another major benefit of LED illumination is the elimination of long warm-up times and other care required by fluorescent light-sources such as mercury-vapor.
The infinity-corrected optical system includes upgraded plan-fluor objectives, which provide edge-to-edge sharpness with higher resolution, improved color-correction, and improved short and long wavelength transmission. The reversed quintuple-nosepiece is equipped with 4X, 10X, 20X, 40X, and 100X plan semi-apochromatic lenses. The 10X plan, high-eyepoint eyepieces provide a compounded magnification range of 40X to 1000X. The Koehler illumination-system is designed for precision, with a variable-NA swing-condenser allowing the use of high and low magnifications with full, even coverage. The robust frame offers excellent stability and ergonomics, with coaxial coarse and fine focusing, as well as coaxial stage-translation knobs providing fluid control.
The ultra-sensitive 6MP digital camera provides a temperature-controlled, low-light imaging solution, ideal for fluorescence microscopy. The large, highly-sensitive CCD sensor produces low-noise images, thanks in-part to a controllable internal cooling unit. The camera captures still images and video, and allows you to view a live stream on your PC. Because of the CCD's "global shutter" design, it eliminates rolling-shutter artifacts. With software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, it's a multi-platform imaging solution. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while capturing high-definition images. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version with limited processing features.
